On the PS3 and the Wii.....weeee!!!!
competition is a part of everday life and it happens to be what makes life so much fun. everyone fights to get on the "best" team and have the "best" players. but the "best" is defined differently according to everyone's various standards. the only way to win, is to know both the competitors. knowing their strengths and weaknesses are the only way you can have a sure bet of beating them. then again, people often disregard the weakensses and instead slander the competition to anyone who listens. is there any way to fight fair?
competition plays a role in all aspects of life, from athletics, or marketing sales, even to petty rivalries. you can bet that anything with popularity is bound to have competitors. Now, enter sony playstation3 and nintendo wii, two innovative and distinctly unique systems. who is ruling the charts? which is the "best"? and can we find a better reason to buy a nintendo wii other than "Nintendo iz tha shitz,fo reel!"
unbais informative advertising for these gaming consoles can only be found in gaming magazines. you can find information in computer or mens magazines, but neither do justice to what the systems truely have to offer. basically, buyers play the consumer game by ear. who has what, what do they think of it, etc etc. fewer people are researching into what they are buying and thus end up buying the item that was either the least expensive or looked the coolest. trust me, i've met many a fanboy playing the " xbox 360 is the best cuz it'll have halo 3" card, i just shake my head and walk in the other direction. why waste your breathe explaining the technical inferiorities of the xbox360 to the ps3?
thanks to americas popularity driven mass media, you will hear more about the nintendo wii then other consoles, all thanks to its large youth fanbase. but although wii rocks the media, the ps3 rocks the statistics. polls on various gaming sites show ps3 having more support in the most areas: from graphics, overall power, to broadest library. the wii takes the cake on various polls of lesser stature, mostly focusing on or around the wireless remote control.
focusing on the wii and ps3, i am hoping people will take a step back and look at the statistics of both systems and realize how much the wii resembles the gamecube... we all know how that system ended. i believe the new wireless controller can create new ways of gaming and provide endless hours of entertainment. but there is a bigger problem looming over the wii, not with the console, but with the company. nintendo has rooted its foundations in child friendly video games. games that parents are comfortable leaving their children alone with. how could nintendo release a violent, mind twisiting game aimed at more mature audiences without creating an uproar? its apparent to many, that parents do not often pay attention to the games they buy their children. so if the trusted nintendo company released grand theft auto: animal crossing and a unobservant parent bought it for their 6 yr old, who is at fault for the exposer of blood gore and violence? personally i think the parent, but in the parents defense i would wonder : since when did nintendo release mature games like hat of the ps3 or xbox?
Here is my prediciton. the drama over which is better : ps3 or wii, will finally come to an end.......30 years from now and fanboys will learn how to spell and may even learn to form complete coherent sentences.
