  Residet Evil....I've missed you.
WARNING: ZOMBIES ON A RAMPAGE!

Yes folks, you’ve be warned. Zombies are on the loose and headed to your dorms as we speak. The highly anticipated Resident Evil 5 has finally been broadcasted at the latest E3 convention (Electronic Entertainment Expo). The famous Chris Redfield returns to the series after a long absence. RE5 appears to be set in rural Africa, ten years after the first RE game. Here, Chris Redfield will suffer environmental effects, such as heat exposure and vision impairment by going from sunlight to darkness or vice versa. Chris has many of Leon Kennedy’s abilities (Resident Evil 4 protagonist). This includes the ability to fend off melee attacks, so be prepared for quick button mashing. The trailer at E3 displayed new high definition graphics, which make the zombies look even more terrifying. Weren’t they scary enough already? These graphics are made possible thanks to the capabilities of the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Developers have also created a new heightened AI system which will cause the zombies to be more aggressive and adrenaline pumped. None of that cliché zombie walking going on here, so be prepared for full out sprints headed your way. It’s too bad this installment to one of the most successful gaming franchises is slated to release in 2009, but there’s more to fill your plate till then.
Since Resident Evil 4 did so well on the charts and the Nintendo Wii has done a fine job recruiting new players, why not join the two? Yes, get ready to wave that wii-mote around like a madman, because RE4 is coming your way. Although there are no new exclusive side features for the Wii, you can still expect a sense of newness thanks to the use off the wii-mote during cut scenes and in battle. RE4 for the Wii is in stores now, so be sure to pick it up and add it to your collection, if it isn’t in there already.
Now if you’re feeling like you’ve “been there done that”, then how about I introduce Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles? The plot line for this game focuses around the downfall of the Umbrella Corporation. Basically, the corporation responsible for the zombie outbreak. The trailer at the E3 convention showed visuals much like that of a FPS (First Person Shooter). With the use of the new Wii-mote peripheral the “Zapper”, you’ll get the chance to look more manly holding a plastic shotgun then you would a plain remote control. Be ready to cock the gun when you need to reload and swing it around in order to use your knife. You’ll be able to get your hands on this title sometime this fall.
Maybe you’ve never had a chance to play the games, but you’ve definitely seen the movies. You’re in luck, because Resident Evil : Extinction is on its way to theatres near you. This third and final installment to the series takes place several years after Apocalypse. Mankind has apparently been forced to extinction thanks to those lovely living dead. Alice decides to hide out in the Nevada desert with a handful of survivors. With the Umbrella Corporation after her for her blood and zombies after her for her pretty succulent flesh, we can be sure there will be nonstop action. Just the way I like it! Be sure to hit the theatre this September 21st.
You’ve now been warned of all possible zombie attacks, so make sure to walk in groups. Unless someone gets bitten in your group, then you should just run as fast as you can back to your dorm or house and lock the doors. This has been Kaitlin McQueen, logging off for the evening.
